Fashion for Furkids: Style Unleashed!
Our first annual “Fashion for Furkids” event was absolutely fabulous! On Tuesday May 14th, animal lovers and fashion fans gathered at the Giaquinto Event Center at Furkids headquarters for a show like no other. All while raising money for our life saving programs.
Attendees enjoyed royal tea, beautiful live music, and loved on Furkids dogs who were sporting fun outfits of their own! The program was led by author and fashion historian Nancy Flaherty, who provided insights into the rich history and evolution of fashion. Nancy’s company, 'HiddenGems with Nancy', specializes in taking clients shopping in Paris, France, to find the hidden gems they have been searching for their whole lives - and Nancy shared many of those gems with us.

We had an exclusive look at both vintage and contemporary styles featuring articles from Nancy’s personal collection, Dillards fashion, and unique finds from the Furkids Thrift Stores. Models from Forward, The Agency, wowed us all as they showcased a gorgeous variety of styles!
Not only is Nancy an expert of the field of fashion, but she also has a heart for philanthropy. Nancy and her husband adopted their dog Rocky from Furkids in 2013, so organizing this event to benefit the animals in our program was a perfect match.
During “Fashion for Furkids”, we held a silent auction of handbags from designers such as Chanel, Jimmy Choo, and Kate Spade that were provided by generous donors. The auction alone raised $10,000, and will go directly to helping the animals who need Furkids the most.We were also thrilled to see one of our dogs on the catwalk “Buzz” find his forever home - it was the cherry on top to an already perfect day.
We want to thank all of our generous event sponsors, auction donors, and participants for the first ever Fashion for Furkids. All are invited to attend our next Fashion for Furkids event next year, on the second Tuesday of May!
