Scout Has Her Best Day Ever! Scout just had the best day of her life! Recently, she got to go on a Pooch Pontoon ride with Best Friends on the Lake. That would be a great day for even the most spoiled dog, but it certainly meant EVERYTHING to a pup who has lived in a shelter for her entire life. Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters Furkids is participating in the Bissell Pet Foundation’s largest Empty the Shelters event to date. From October 1-4, Bissell Pet Foundation is generously sponsoring reduced adoption fees for adoptable cats at Furkids. All cats and kittens available for this promotion can be adopted for $25. Furkid’s Foster Nationally Recognized by Petco Foundation Susan Struble, a foster volunteer at Furkids has been recognized as one of 22 National Foster Heroes by the Petco Foundation and BOBS from Skechers in celebration of National Foster a Pet Month in June. Domestic Violence: Sheltering in place isn’t safe for everyone As a result of the COVID-19 lockdown, some people have been trapped at home with abusive family members when they previously at least had the ability to seek refuge elsewhere. With more victims of domestic violence confined with abusers, hotlines have seen a spike in pleas for help. Domestic violence destroys families and hurts everyone, including pet family members.
