We just got a lot closer to breaking ground on our new state-of-the-art Dog Shelter at our headquarters property!

Furkids is actively raising funds to build a new state-of-the-art two-story dog shelter at our headquarters property, consolidating our cat and dog operations and doubling our ability to save canine lives!

The exciting announcement? Generous donor and animal advocate, Fair Sutherlin, has issued a challenge grant - agreeing to match all donations towards the new dog shelter up to 1 million dollars! We couldn’t be more excited for this challenge!

Fair Sutherlin has had a lifelong passion for dogs, and even more, a devotion to providing second chances to homeless dogs whose futures are grim,” said Samantha Shelton, Furkids founder and CEO. “Aligning with her passion, Furkids has a lush, expansive campus unlike any other in the region and a unique vision for providing the most advanced rescue, shelter and adoption for animals by consolidating operations at our campus. Because of the challenges of fundraising, we’ve had to be patient in carrying out our vision. Fair’s contribution is allowing Furkids to jump-start construction of our new dog shelter, which will allow us to save even more animal lives and engage with more people in the community. We are so grateful to Fair Sutherlin and her family for sharing our vision and for their love and generosity in helping save and cherish innocent animal lives.”

The new Furkids Dog Shelter, set to be approximately 13,000 square feet, will mirror the innovative design of our Cat Shelter, featuring .individual rooms and fenced outdoor play yards. This expansion will double Furkids' capacity to save canine lives, accommodating up to 115 dogs at a time. All of which will have more space, and an improved environment in every measurable way so that our dogs can focus on relaxing and getting adopted. 

With Fair Sutherlin's challenge grant, we are thrilled to embark on the next phase of our transformative journey. Every contribution made towards this portion of our capital campaign and the construction of the Dog Shelter will be matched dollar for dollar, up to 1 million dollars. There hasn’t been a better time to get involved with our life saving journey! We are seeking the help of animal lovers everywhere to help us bring the dog shelter to life!
