Furkids is excited to announce our participation in the BISSELL Pet Foundation's "Empty the Shelters" event, running from May 1st to May 15th. This national initiative aims to find loving forever homes for pets in need, and we couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of it.

During "Empty the Shelters," adoption fees for select cats and dogs at Furkids are reduced to just $50. Furkids also offers waived adoption fees for senior cats as well as cats who are FiV/FeLV+.  This exciting event highlights the wonderful animals in our program who are eagerly awaiting their forever families.

For us at Furkids, "Empty the Shelters" is more than just an adoption event—it's a celebration of love and companionship. Our dedicated staff and volunteers are overjoyed to witness the magic of pet adoption, as families find their perfect match. Furkids works hard during this time to make sure that our deserving animals find their happily ever after. 

Luiza Cheralu, the Director of the Furkids Dog Shelter, expressed her gratitude towards the BISSELL Pet Foundation for making pet adoption more accessible to our communities. She stated “It makes that first step easier, and once they are able to meet their dog and see their personality it really seals the deal”. She also highlighted how many new adopters choose to use the saved funds from the discounted adoption fee to purchase supplies, ensuring their new pet's smooth transition into their forever home.
