Celebrating 22 Years of Furkids: A Journey of Compassion

On Saturday, April 13, hundreds of Furkids supporters, volunteers, and beloved animal advocates gathered together at the one-of-a-kind Furkids Headquarters to celebrate the milestone of 22 life saving years

The annual Anniversary Celebration is a crucial fundraising event that raises money for the operations and programs of Furkids. It's also a time where like minded animal lovers gather together and celebrate the impact Furkids made the year prior. Generous sponsors, staff, and selfless volunteers work hard to make it a night to remember. Guests enjoyed an open bar, gourmet food, live music, a carefully curated live and silent auction, and tours of our botanical gardens, Shiloh Gardens, and the newly opened Fort and Michele Felker Cat Shelter. 

There were many reasons to celebrate!! In 2023, Furkids cared for nearly 5,000 animals, administered 12,773 vaccinations to community pets through our vaccine clinic, provided 4,112 spay/neuter surgeries, and helped 4,023 cats and dogs find homes. Throughout the night, attendees reminisced on the stories that touched them most, and rallied together to continue this important work.

The Anniversary Celebration was a huge success, and we are thrilled to report that over $350,000 dollars was raised during the night through donations, and the live and silent auction. This revenue will provide us the opportunity to continue to save the most at risk lives in our community. Making it possible for us to give much needed medical care, food and shelter to hundreds of animals throughout the year. We are so grateful to the community for their continued support of our important work. 

The live auction was nothing short of extraordinary. One highlight of the evening was when two participants showed their immense love for their pets by donating $25,000 each to have their furry companions' images included in a custom wrap on a Furkids vehicle for a year. The silent auction featured vacation getaways, jewelry, and all sorts of gift cards and goods donated by people who love animals.

The celebration also brought in a new tradition to be carried on. The Furkids “founding cat” Torie Shelton was honored with her very own VIP table, where special supporters will have a unique VIP experience with curated wines and spirits, special cocktail hour prior to the party, Furkids gift bag for each guest, and a beautiful VIP table to enjoy throughout the night.

As we celebrate on this momentous occasion, we are filled with gratitude and reflection. We extend our deepest thanks to every individual that has played a part in Furkids' journey over the past 22 years. Without the unwavering dedication of our supporters - whose compassion and tireless efforts drive our mission forward, none of this would be possible.
