Target Team Members give back

Furkids proudly hosts volunteer groups from churches to Girl Scout troops year-round at our shelters, but we are especially excited when a corporation takes time out of their busy work week to come volunteer with our animals. Target employees and interns from all around the Atlanta area traveled for a day of service at our dog shelter.  Thirty of their finest loaded into the shelter to bathe dogs, wipe windows, walk dogs and even do some deep and dirty cleaning. High School Students Share Kindness

In 2014 Anna Mahr, senior class president at Milton High School, organized a Kindness Week to encourage kindness and school spirit in a school environment reeling from several tragic deaths. The community undoubtedly felt the need for such an event and Kindness Week delivered! The week was a huge success and in 2015 the school decided to hold Kindness Week again, this year with additional opportunities including a visit from Furkids dogs, dance parties, teacher appreciation events and letter writing to the troops. Changing Lives One Cat at a Time

The small black cat crouched in fear at the back of the intake cage, hissing and growling, swiping at any hand that came close. Her ears were pinned back and her eyes were wide as she puffed herself up to seem larger and more fearsome. What adopter could possibly want to take her home? February Visitors

Furkids had some wonderful volunteer groups visit in the month of February. They are our ♥♥♥ VALENTINES ♥♥♥ Girl Scout Troop #29316 brought some donations and sponsored Pirate & Rico for the month of February! Thank you, girls! Nicholas is 7 years old and in the 2nd grade. He and his dad brought some donations from the First Montessori School of Atlanta.
