Paws for Cocktails: A Night of Celebration, Compassion, and Community

On October 5, 2024, Furkids Animal Rescue hosted our 14th annual Paws for Cocktails event, and thanks to the incredible support of our guests, it was an overwhelming success! With over 450 animal lovers in attendance, we raised more than $275,000 in crucial funds that will help keep our life-saving programs running throughout the busy fall season - and bring much needed aid to the animals who need us most.

Set against the backdrop of our beautiful garden headquarters, the evening was packed with exciting activities, from live music to a delicious spread of food (including a mac-and-cheese bar that was a hit with everyone!).

The open bar kept spirits high, and guests toured our headquarters campus and visited the Fort and Michele Felker Cat Shelter. Guests were also able to see the site where the new Giaquinto Medical Center, and the Sutherlin Dog Shelter are soon to be built.

One of the night's highlights was our live auction, where hundreds of enthusiastic attendees placed their bids on a range of exciting prizes. There was also no shortage of friendly competition as guests engaged in “Furbids” to contribute directly to our life-saving efforts. We also raffled off two “Golden Tickets,” giving two lucky winners the opportunity to enjoy a breathtaking vacation for two!

Furkids founder and CEO, Samantha Shelton, delivered a heartfelt speech during the evening program, expressing gratitude for the generosity of everyone who attended. As she shared stories about the impact of Furkids’ work, it was a reminder of how much we can accomplish together for the animals in our care. “We love throwing these parties and seeing all of our wonderful supporters enjoying themselves and having a great time! We also know that its important to bring people together to help us grow our contributions, the largest portion of our revenue budget. The vital funds that we raised through Paws for Cocktails will allow us to continue to say yes to the many abandoned and homeless animals in our community that need us. We are incredibly grateful for the commitment of our donors that empowers us to save all the lives we can each and every day!”
