Rotini the pasta kitty!

rotini2 An urgent plea came in from a high-kill animal control about "poor deformed kittens" begging for a rescue to step up and save a family of three cats. The animal control was in a rural area, where it is hard to adopt healthy young kittens, so cats like this would have no chance at making it out alive without the help of a rescue agency.

The mother was a gorgeous calico with no deformities. Her two kittens however, had a medical condition that deformed their legs at birth. Knowing they had less than 24 hours to get out of alive, we sent a volunteer to get them and hurried them to our shelter for an evaluation. Mom was quickly adopted, but sadly, one of the kittens passed within the first few days. His deformities were more severe, but the surviving kitten, named Rotini, is our miracle kitten.

Rotini is able to run and play and has even learned how to climb stairs to get up on her foster mommy's bed! She is healthy and active and continues to amaze us with her curious spirit and determination. Rotini is available for adoption to a special home. If you are interested please apply today
