Group Fun at Furkids

We love having groups of volunteers come to the shelter.  It always means that there will be lots of smiles, fun, laughter, learning, and much needed attention for the cats.  Our shelter is so magical, that nearly every group that visits for the first time ends up wanting to come back again!

Here are some groups that stopped by in October.

Harbor Oaks Montessori visited on 10/21.

Edie Blankenberg brought her 6 students with her to visit & help out. Here they are in Rooms 1, 2, and 3 giving the cats a lot of affection. The students enjoyed their visit so much that they decided to volunteer regularly on Friday mornings! We, and the cats, look forward to it!

The DeRiche Agency, Inc. Community Connection Center in Kennesaw works with developmentally disabled adults to help give them more social interaction.

They visited the shelter on 10/21 as well.

And just like the Montessori school girls above, this group is also planning to volunteer now on a weekly basis.

Lucky for us and all of our animals!

It's a fact.  Girl Scout Troops love Furkids and Furkids loves Girl Scout Troops.

Here's Girl Scout Troop #11512 visiting Furkids for a volunteer day on 10/20.

Thank you, girls, for helping us out!  We appreciate you!

Here's Daisy Troop #12532 from Dunwoody United Methodist Church on their volunteer day on 10/15.

Here are some phrases we can add to their cool t-shirts:

"Never to small to..."

  • Volunteer at Furkids!
  • Learn how to care for animals.
  • Bring smiles wherever we go.
Thanks for visiting, girls!

Students from Georgia Tech's Team BUZZ helped out on 10/15.  Team BUZZ is a regular volunteer group at Furkids.

Here is the most recent group at the FIV house surrounding an unidentified (yet very relaxed) kitty on the floor in the middle of all of them!

Thank you, Team BUZZ!  We always enjoy your company.

Do you belong to a group that could come volunteer some time at Furkids?  Work groups, student groups, social groups, church groups, or just a group of family/friends -- get some people together and send an e-mail to volunteer@furkids.org to arrange your visit.  We look forward to seeing you.
