The Happiest Happy Tails You’ve Ever Read
Henree
We’ve had so many incredible adoptions lately, it’s hard to keep track! What’s even more amazing is that many of our FIV+ kitties are finding their forever homes! Last month, Hammer, our longest resident cat (and FIV+) was adopted after 11 years in the shelter! And last week, Henree, our most senior resident, not only in the FIV suite, but in the entire building, was adopted by a wonderful couple.
Henree belonged to a home once upon a time. He was left behind after his previous owner relocated to Canada and wouldn’t take him with. Shortly after arriving to Furkids, Henree fell into a rough depression. He missed his life and the
people who left him behind. Furkids gave him lots of love and a warm place to sleep, but there is something about being in a home that makes animals thrive! He waited and waited for someone to take him back to the life he had before. Days turned into months, months turned into years, and soon Henree found himself ever-homeless at the age of 15.
Just last week, the perfect couple walked into the shelter ready to give a not-so-adoptable cat a forever home. Being 15 and FIV+, Henree definitely falls into that category. The couple met Henree and quickly fell in love with how special he was.
Henree was finally taken to his forever home where he can live out the rest of his days knowing love with the reassurance that he will never again be left behind.
Chloe
Chloe Camlin was found abandoned in a plastic carrier on the side of a busy road. As a result of the physical trauma Chloe experienced, her front legs we damaged and she couldn't walk or run like most dogs. Instead, she would use them to hobble
and scoot around the yard at the dog shelter where she loved to play. The emotional trauma Chloe experienced left her wary of strangers, but during her time at Furkids, she had improved tremendously. Chloe was lucky enough to get into a foster
home where she could receive the one-on-one attention that would transform her.
After a long time of being overlooked due to her disability, Chloe was finally adopted! She is in her forever home where her disabilities are not considered a hindrance, but something that makes her special.
We wish Henree and Chloe and their families the happiest of HAPPY TAILS! Take a look at Henree and Chloe in their forever homes:
