Furkids offers a great way to stay out of the heat this summer. At our 10,000 square foot, cage-free, no-kill cat shelter, we encourage kids (and kids-at-heart) to sit down and read to our cats. It’s a great way to keep your child’s brain sharp while they are out of school, and it contributes to a cat’s recuperation by helping them to become more socialized in preparation for their forever homes. You may bring your own book or borrow one from the shelter shelf. The cat shelter, located at 2650 Pleasantdale Rd, Ste 8, Atlanta, GA 30340, is open for… READ MORE >

Posted on Wednesday, November 23rd

Not One Cat Left Behind Atlanta, Ga. (November 23, 2011) — This Thanksgiving, 16 homeless cats from the Henry County Animal Care & Control in Georgia (HCC&C)  (www.hcacc.org) have a reason to be thankful.  Instead of being put to death because their time at the facility was up, they were rescued by Furkids, (www.furkids.org) a nonprofit organization that rescues, shelters, sterilizes, and places helpless, homeless animals into permanent, loving homes. It’s highly unusual for one organization to rescue so many animals at one time.  Furkids was able to take this step because it operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in Georgia… READ MORE >
