Meet Kobe! Kobe is a 5-year-old chocolate Lab/short-haired pointer mix who recently came to us when his family could no longer care for him and wanted him to have the best chance at a loving, attentive home. Kobe is a very sweet, affectionate “velcro dog” who loves being close to his people. He’s housetrained, good with other dogs, and has a calm, moderate energy level overall. Most of the time, Kobe is a relaxed and easygoing boy who enjoys walks, is a great leash walker, and also has a playful side—especially when it comes to ball fetch and outdoor time. When he’s done playing, he’s just as happy to settle in as a couch potato by your side. Kobe can sometimes become a little overwhelmed with transitions or big changes, and he may need some time and patience to adjust to a new home and schedule. Once he feels secure, his loving and loyal personality truly shines. Because he can be anxious at times, Kobe would do best in a calm home without children where he can feel safe and settled. He is very food motivated and already knows several basic commands. Kobe does need to lose about 15 pounds to be at a healthy weight, but with regular walks and a balanced routine, he’s well on his way. What Kobe truly thrives on is companionship, attention, and an active but relaxed lifestyle with someone who will include him in their day-to-day life and help him feel comfortable as he settles in. Kobe has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped.
