A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Canelo is a 5-year-old Chihuahua mix who is as sweet and gentle as they come. He has a calm, affectionate personality and enjoys being around people, quickly warming up to anyone he meets. He has a low to moderate energy level and is happiest in quiet, relaxed environments. Busy or high-traffic areas can feel overwhelming for him, so he would do best in a peaceful home where he can feel safe and secure. Canelo walks nicely on leash and has been very reliable in his kennel, with no accidents noted. Canelo truly shines when he has canine companionship and would need to live in a home with another calm, confident dog to help him feel comfortable and supported. Having a dog friend helps him relax and come out of his shell, and he gains confidence from that bond. His sweet, easygoing nature has made him a volunteer favorite, and he’s ready for a loving home that will give him the comfort, stability, and companionship he thrives with. Canelo currently weighs about 25.4lbs., is approximately 5 years old (est. birth date 03/08/2021), and his adoption fee is $315. Canelo has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped.
