Animal Bio

Birch is a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd with a sweet nature and lots of potential. He came to us from an overcrowded county shelter after being found as a stray, so we’re still getting to know all the wonderful things about him. Birch is very friendly and enjoys meeting new people, quickly showing off his affectionate side. He walks well on leash and, with a slow and proper introduction, has done well with other dogs so far. Like many Aussies, Birch is extremely high energy and will need an active home committed to giving him plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He can also be a bit anxious, especially in busy or loud environments, so he would do best in a calmer home with limited foot traffic while he continues to build confidence and learn that the world is a safe place. Birch is still working on his kennel training and may have occasional accidents, so he’ll benefit from a patient family willing to provide structure, consistency, and guidance. With the right home to support him, Birch has all the makings of a loyal, loving, and fun companion. Birch currently weighs about 30lbs., is approximately 1 years old (est. birth date 04/02/2025), and his adoption fee is $510. Birch has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped.
