Meet Elle — A Gentle Soul Learning What Love Feels Like Elle is a 6-year-old King Charles Cavalier/Chihuahua mix who is ready to discover what it truly means to be someone’s beloved companion. This sweet girl came to us from a hoarding situation, where she spent much of her life surrounded by other dogs with very little human interaction. Because of that, the world of people, leashes, houses, and all the little things that come with being a family dog are still new to her. Elle is now safe in a loving foster home, and she is beginning to learn. She is working on her leash skills and house training, and while she still has some work to do, every new step is a victory. She is a wonderful example of what can happen when a dog is finally given the time, patience, and kindness she deserves. Elle does well with other dogs, which is something that has been familiar and comforting to her throughout her life. Her new family will need to understand that she may not immediately know how to be a confident, well-adjusted house pet. She needs someone who will celebrate her progress, give her time to build trust, and never expect her to change overnight. We are looking for a patient and loving adopter who understands that rescuing Elle means giving her the opportunity to learn how wonderful life can be. She has already come so far, and with the right person by her side, we believe her best days are still ahead. A securely fenced yard appropriate for a small-breed dog is required.
