Colby is a handsome 13-pound terrier mix with a personality that shines and a deep devotion to the people he trusts. He loves attention, enjoys playtime, and is happiest spending time with his favorite person. Once you've earned his trust, he'll be your constant companion—affectionate, loyal, and always ready to be by your side. Colby can be cautious around new people and is deeply bonded to his person. He experiences some reactivity, but with time, consistent training, thoughtful management, patience, and veterinary support, he has been making wonderful progress. He'll need a family committed to continuing the work that's helping him build confidence. His ideal home is a calm, quiet environment with a predictable routine and minimal visitors. A securely fenced yard is required, as walks can sometimes be challenging for him. Colby is not a good match for a home with cats, and he may not get along with every dog, so careful introductions and management are important. An adopter with experience handling spirited small dogs would be a great fit. Because Colby needs time to warm up to new people, he is looking for an adult-only home with no children. His adoption process may include multiple meet-and-greets to ensure everyone is comfortable, so we are not considering out-of-state adoptions. Colby is potty trained and already knows some basic commands, giving him a great foundation for continued success. Colby is approximately 1 year old (estimated birth date: 11/04/2024), weighs about 13 pounds, and his adoption fee is $185. He is neutered, current on vaccinations and preventatives, and microchipped.
