Introducing Rumor, a girl with an unbelievable story. Rumor was once a Frisbee champion, but she fell on hard times after her beloved owner passed away. Rumor was eventually found after weeks of living alone without any food or water. She was brought into emergency care in critical condition, and we honestly weren't sure if she would make it, but Rumor is a fighter. Today, she's a completely different dog. She's happy, energetic, and full of life. For the first time in months, the sparkle is back in her eyes. At nine years young, she'll happily play fetch or chase a frisbee like she's still a little puppy. She loves her foster dog siblings, doesn't mind cats, and would gladly accept cuddles all day long. She truly gets along with everyone and everything she meets. The lovely folks at the 15/10 Foundation heard her story, and graciously covered her medical bills with a promise to cover her medications into the foreseeable future. Rumor is hard of hearing and also has chronic kidney disease, so she'll need a special adopter who has the patience, love, and experience in caring for a dog with a chronic illness. Her care is very manageable - she takes a daily medication and gets subcutaneous (under the skin) fluids every three days, and she takes her medicine with no fuss. This lovely girl deserves a second chance after the nightmare she recently went through. If you give her a chance, she will bring SO much love to your home. Rumor proves to us each day that second chances are worth it. Rumor currently weighs about 30 pounds and her estimated birthdate is March 2018. This girl would benefit from a stay at home parent, retired couple, or someone who works from home. She loves to be with her person. Rumor would also love to have another dog to play with. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $175. To hear more about this brave girl or set up a time to meet her in-person, please fill out an adoption survey at furkids.org/adopt and a Furkids adoption counselor will reach out to you soon. You must be 21+ to adopt.
