-Good with Cats -Good with Dogs -Home with Older Kids Meet Henley, the pint-sized cuddle bug with a heart of gold! This adorable red/mahogany sweetheart, weighing in at a petite 8lbs, is ready to charm her way into your life. Henley is one of 15 rescued from a Florida hoarding situation, and she is learning what it means to trust and be loved. Initially, Henley was extremely cautious, showing just how much she missed out on human companionship. She's making wonderful progress with her foster family and is becoming a serious snuggler (see pictures). She still struggles when someone reaches out to her when she is not snuggling and settled, but she loves being near her humans. She currently takes a little chill pill to help her relax with touch, and while she's improving, it will take time for her to embrace physical affection fully. Henley is a smart cookie! She's already mastered three different doggie doors, proving she's a quick learner. (It was clear she had no doggie-door experience in the beginning.) She's also shown a gentle curiosity towards cats, even attempting a snuggle (though the cat politely declined!). She thrives in the company of other dogs, especially her playful foster sister, and would likely do best in a home with other pets or an active, patient owner. Henley is approximately 3 years old (est. birth date 11/22/2021), spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations and preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $185. Henley is looking for a special adopter, someone with a calm, patient home who understands the needs of a dog who has had very little human interaction. She needs a safe space to continue her journey of learning to trust and love. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a deserving dog who's making steady progress, please fill out a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. Meetings are by appointment only, and you must be at least 21 to adopt. An adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours of your survey submission. Henley is waiting for someone to give her the chance to blossom.
