First Aid + CPR for Animals

Calling all pet owners and farm owners! Join us at Furkids Headquarters on Sunday, September 26 for a seminar presented by Mindful Seeds, Love GOGA, and Windward Animal Hospital. We've joined forces with Furkids to bring urban farm education and enrichment to our local community. You will learn essential skills and techniques to identify and properly care for animals in the event of illness or injury:

  • Signs To Look for: How Do I Know My Pet Is Sick?
  • Basic Wound Care: Open Wounds, Bandages
  • How To Give CPR To an Animal
  • What To Have on Hand for Emergencies

The session kicks off at 1:00 pm Dr. Stewart Colby, Veterinarian/Founder of Windward Animal Hospital, and Ben Hortman, Assistant Technician, will teach how to identify signs that your small animal is sick, and how to provide the best care possible until you arrive at the vet clinic. Dr. Colby will perform a live animal demonstration on basic wound care, as well as the proper way to administer CPR to an animal in an emergency.

Tickets are free of charge, and registration is required ahead of time. We welcome all ages 10 and up, but no outside animals are allowed. Animal first aid kits will be available for purchase at the end of the seminar.

Register Here!

PLEASE NOTE:

  • No family pets are permitted at this event. The official event partners will provide all animals for the demonstrations.
  • If you suspect your pet is under the weather, our first recommendation is to call your veterinarian and bring the animal to the clinic as soon as possible.
  • Masks are highly encouraged at this event, and hand sanitizer will be available.
  • This is not a CPR certification course. Rather it is a seminar to help educate farm owners and pet owners on how to respond quickly in any animal situation.
