Meet Shilah, an Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart that's still learning it's safe to trust. Shilah is sweet through and through, but the world has given her plenty of reasons to be afraid. Sudden noises, quick movements, unfamiliar sounds all send her searching for the nearest exit. We don't know much about her past, but it's clear someone failed her long before she found her way to Furkids. The good news is that she's already proving she can heal. Since arriving, Shilah has started to trust the humans who show up for her consistently, and every bit of progress is a quiet little victory. Shilah walks on a leash but startles easily, so she'll need a home with a secure fenced yard, however, leash walks within that yard are a must, since she's a skilled climber when she's motivated. A calm, predictable routine will help her feel steady while she keeps building confidence. She's also just finished heartworm treatment, so she'll need a quiet, low-key month to recover fully. Shilah isn't looking for a perfect home - just a patient one, with someone willing to be her hero while she learns that good things can last. Shilah's adoption fee is $315 and her estimated birthday is February 2023. She has been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated.
