Born around May 2023, Tucker is a 60-lb Shepherd mix with a story of resilience. He came from an overcrowded animal control shelter, where the chaos and noise only made things harder for a dog who had never known stability in his life. Without a steady home to anchor him, Tucker's confidence took a real hit, but that's changing every day. To help him decompress and rebuild, Tucker has been staying with a professional board and trainer, who's gotten to know him inside and out, including his quirks, his needs, and exactly what his ideal home looks like. Tucker is a bit of a slow burn with new people. He'll size you up at first and maybe hang back a little, but once he decides you're his person, he is all in - loyal, affectionate, and ready to shower you with love. He does great with other dogs, especially confident ones who can match his energy. He's also fully leash trained, house trained, crate trained, and solid on his commands, so the foundation is already there. What Tucker needs now is the right match: a confident, experienced owner who can provide the clear structure that helps him thrive, along with a calm, predictable household without children. A fenced yard would be ideal too, so he has room to really let loose and zoom. He'll also need a little patience during that "getting to know you" phase, but the payoff is a dog who gives his whole heart once he settles in. His trainer is committed to making that transition smooth, working directly with his adopters and sharing tips, tricks, and everything learned about this good boy along the way.
