Davina Deserves a Soft Place to Land! Davina needs a nice, quiet home. She has been through so much, and it’s time for her to know that life can be gentle again. For 12 wonderful years, Davina and her brother, Dave, lived with their beloved human mom. They had a home, a family, and the comfort of a life together. Then their mom passed away, and the two cats found themselves at Furkids, suddenly without the person they loved and the home they had always known. Both cats were shy, reserved, and frightened by all the changes. Dave was the more outgoing of the two, and Davina leaned on the familiar presence of her brother as they tried to navigate a world that had become unfamiliar and scary. Then tragedy struck again. Dave developed what was initially thought to be an upper respiratory illness, but it was eventually confirmed to be cancer. Sadly, Dave crossed the Rainbow Bridge to be reunited with his beloved human mom, leaving Davina behind to face this strange new world without the two beings she had loved most. And Davina has been dealing with her own medical struggles. She suffers from a severe case of stomatitis, a painful inflammation of the mouth that often requires extensive dental extractions. Furkids performs these procedures in stages, completing one side of the mouth at a time because of the complexity and trauma involved. Davina had the first half of her dental procedure done before Dave passed away. Now, she has finally completed the second round of extractions on the other side of her mouth. She has been through so much, and we are hoping that this treatment will help her feel more comfortable. Through it all, Davina remains such a good kitty. She just wants to be loved. And here's the heartbreaking part: Davina is 12 years old. We all know how difficult it can be for senior cats to find adopters. So many people walk past the older kitties in search of kittens or younger cats. But a cat like Davina has already given 12 years of love, companionship, and loyalty. She deserves to spend her golden years in a home where she can finally feel safe again. She doesn't need a big adventure. She doesn't need a busy household. She needs a quiet, patient person who will give her time to settle in, a soft place to sleep, and the reassurance that she is loved and will never be abandoned again. Please don't overlook Davina because of her age. Somewhere out there is a person who could make all the difference in her world. Someone who understands that senior cats are special, that love doesn't have an expiration date, and that giving an older cat a home can be one of the most beautiful gifts imaginable. Davina has lost her mom, her brother, and the home she knew for 12 years. Can we help her find a new beginning? Please share Davina's story. Her quiet, loving home may be just one share away.
