Animal Bio

Meet Kobe! Kobe is a 5-year-old chocolate Lab/short-haired pointer mix who recently came to us when his family could no longer care for him and wanted him to have the best chance at a loving, attentive home. Kobe is a very sweet, affectionate “velcro dog” who loves being close to his people. He’s housetrained, good with other dogs, and has a calm, moderate energy level overall. He enjoys walks, is a great leash walker, and also has a playful side—especially when it comes to ball fetch and outdoor time. When he’s done playing, he’s just as happy to settle in as a couch potato by your side. He is very food motivated and already knows several basic commands, including “play dead” and “bark on command.” Kobe is not destructive, though he is not a fan of being crated. He may show some anxiety when left alone, as he truly loves being with his people, and he can also be sensitive during fireworks. Kobe does need to lose about 15 pounds to be at a healthy weight, but with regular walks and a balanced routine, he’s well on his way. Because of his size and the fact that he has never lived with small children, we recommend a home without young kids. What he truly thrives on is companionship, attention, and an active but relaxed lifestyle with someone who will include him in their day-to-day life. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will be happiest right by your side, Kobe may be the perfect match. Kobe currently weighs about 70lbs., is approximately 5 years old (est. birth date 04/14/2021), and his adoption fee is $510. Kobe has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Kobe, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet.
