Ophelia is a 4-year-old mixed breed weighing about 17 pounds, and she’s proof that even the toughest beginnings can’t dim a sweet soul. She and her siblings were rescued after being cruelly dumped in a rural area and left to survive on their own. When they were found, they were dangerously underweight and desperately needed help. Since then, Ophelia has been safe in a caring foster home where she’s been slowly gaining weight and learning what it feels like to be loved and cared for. Through it all, Ophelia has remained a gentle, affectionate girl. She does wonderfully with other dogs and has a warm, loving nature that makes people fall for her quickly. Ophelia is still working on some life skills. She’s learning how to walk on a leash and isn’t fully housetrained yet, so she’ll need a patient adopter who can continue helping her build confidence. Because she’s still getting comfortable with leash walking, a home with a secure fenced yard will be important for her. With her kind heart and resilient spirit, Ophelia is ready to leave her past behind and start the happy life she’s always deserved. Ophelia currently weighs about 17 pounds and is about 4 years old (est. birth date 1/30/2022). She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. Ophelia is currently in foster care.
