Louie is also not currently able to walk on a leash, so his new family should be prepared to work with him slowly and positively as he learns this important skill. Because of his small size and leash limitations, Louie requires a home with a secure, fenced-in yard that is safe for a small-breed dog. Having a secure outdoor space will allow him to enjoy fresh air and explore safely while he continues learning and gaining confidence. At 1 year old, Louie is still young and has plenty of life ahead of him. Although he may need extra support as he adjusts to his new surroundings, he has the opportunity to grow into a more confident companion with patience, consistency, and love.
