Allie (aka Kanga), a dilute calico, was my first foster mama with furkids. She had five kittens born at QT station. I received them when the kittens were 10 days old. They were named after Winnie the Pooh characters. Allie was so scared of people that I knew she would not be easily adopted. I couldn’t bear the thought of her hiding in one of the shelter cat rooms so we adopted her. At the same time we adopted Artie (aka Arnold), a seal point Siamese. He is the most loving cat and is sweet to his Allie. She loves him and tolerates anything he does. After 10 years she is still skittish with me, hates being held but will come for a good scratch and rub if I am seated close by. Mostly, she just wants to be with Artie. I think they are happy.
