In September 2007, I lost one of my babies at an early age; Mia and Emmylou were great companions. After Mia was gone, I thought perhaps I would adopt an older cat so I visited the Furkids shelter to look around. So many sweet faces and sad stories to choose from as I wandered from room to room. One of the volunteers said "I know you were looking for an older cat but a foster mom just brought a litter of kittens you may want to see." The kittens were in a big crate and when she opened the door, they all came running down the hallway past me. Except for Stella. She ran up to my legs, puffed up her back, quivered her tail and stared adoringly at me. That was it; she was the one.
They had a few issues in the early years but with patience on Emmy's part, she has learned to handle her sassy little sister. Emmylou is the reserved one who is affectionate in her own way. Stella runs to greet me when I come home, still quivers her tail and loves to be held.
Thank you Samantha for having the passion for animals and starting Furkids.
