I had lost my beautiful 20 yr. old Russian Blue kitty to cancer the previous year and had begun to look for another.
I saw your website and was amazed to see a picture of a gorgeous gray cat named Birdie . Birdie looked exactly like my Thunder.
I read the story of how Birdie and a companion cat had been turned over to a shelter for euthanization due to the owner passing away. Two perfectly healthy cats! Your organization stepped in and rescued them! The companion cat had already been adopted, leaving Birdie alone.
My husband and I drove from Wetumpka, AL to Atlanta to meet Birdie and came home with "her".
I changed " her" name to Zara. "She" made herself at home immediately- such a loving kitty!
The next day, I received an e-mail apologizing for the mistake, but "she" was a "he"! There had been a mix-up in paperwork!
It didn't make a bit of difference to me- I just shortened the name to Zar!
Zar is a fantastic pet and loves our miniature dachshund Colby. They are best friends. Zar makes us laugh each and every day and we love him very much!
