Shortly after moving to Cumming from Massachusetts I set out to try and adopt another Shih Tzu. Our last rescue had passed away less than a year before and we were ready to get be our love to another. After fruitless tries through adoptapet.org I noticed Furkids as one of the rescues near by and contacted directly. Stacey and Ashley were so gracious, listened to my request, concerns, and asked me to fill out an application. After being vetted I was called to come by and see a little girl named Irina Budlo who had come in just five days earlier. It was love at first sight. It took a while to finish the adoption as this sweet girl was anemic and needed to be spayed and seen by a eye specialist and vet for different medical issues. Furkids made all the arrangements and paid for all the medical care right up to her spaying and dental work after her anemia was cleared a few months later.
They kept in contact, gave excellent care, and sent me to excellent doctors. I would highly recommend this rescue to anyone wishing to find their forever pet.
Irina goes by her new name “Lily” and is such a sweet girl. She loves her daily half hour walk, but mostly wants to cuddle with both of us.
Here are before and after pictures of our Lily. Thank you all for all you do❤️
