Animal Bio

At 8 years old, Betsy the beagle is a shining example of resilience and joy. Rescued from a hoarding situation, she came to us with an untreated injury that ultimately required her leg to be amputated, along with the removal of most of her teeth. If dogs really do live in the moment, Betsy embodies that truth completely. Instead of letting her past define her, she has blossomed into a gentle, trusting girl who greets everyone she meets with a hopeful tail wag and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Betsy has embraced life on three legs with remarkable grace and confidence. She walks beautifully on leash, enjoys her neighborhood strolls, and shows just how smart and eager she is to learn once she feels safe. At home, she is a champion cuddler whose favorite place is curled up on the couch as close to you as possible. She’s even discovered the joy of toys and playtime. Betsy would thrive in a calm, loving home that values cozy couch time, leisurely walks, and the quiet companionship of a dog with an incredibly big heart. Betsy is estimated to be about 8 years old (est. birthdate 12/20/2017), weighs 13.7 pounds, is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. If you'd like to meet Betsy in person & know more about her, please fill out an adoption survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After you submit your survey, a team member will reach out in the following days to set up an adoption appointment at our shelter. Betsy is currently in foster care, so we will need to make arrangements to have her brought to our shelter. You must be 21 years and older to adopt.
