A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Rio is a tender, affectionate girl with a calm presence and a heart full of sweetness. Housetrained, crate trained, and happiest when she’s curled up beside you, she brings warmth and peaceful energy into any home. She loves people deeply, melts for attention, and truly loves love. This social girl enjoys meeting new friends and has shown she does wonderfully with children and other dogs. Her kind nature makes her a joy to be around, and she’s always ready to greet you with soft eyes and a wagging tail. Rio already knows how to sit for treats and recently practiced in the yard—she did amazing on leash, didn’t jump, and responded beautifully to guidance. With continued consistency and treat-based reinforcement, she’ll keep thriving in her training. A devoted mama whose puppies have all been happily adopted, Rio’s nurturing side shines through in everything she does. Despite her past, she remains trusting, gentle, and full of unconditional love. Rio is currently undergoing treatments for heartworm disease. Until she has completed her treatments and is fully recovered, Rio is available for adoption only in the Atlanta area; She must be able to come to Furkids' shelter for treatments. Rio weighs 61lbs and is approximately 3 years old (est. birth date 06/10/2022). Rio has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. Rio's adoption fee is $185. If you want more information about Rio, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
