A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Meet Lucky—a fun-loving, energetic pup with a heart full of joy and a personality that wins everyone over! He’s a volunteer favorite, and it’s easy to see why. Lucky is always up for an adventure and absolutely LOVES playing fetch in the yard—it’s his favorite game and a great way for him to burn off energy. He can be a bit timid on leash at times but gains confidence with gentle guidance. After some outdoor fun, he’s just as happy to settle down for a cozy nap. Lucky is housebroken, knows several commands like “sit,” “drop it,” and comes running when you call, “Lucky, here!” He’s very food motivated and eager to please, making him a quick learner. He has shown some resource guarding, so he’ll do best as the only dog in the home where he can have all the love (and toys) to himself. He has a soft spot for teenagers and is especially affectionate toward them. Due to some past negative experiences with men, he can be shy around unfamiliar males, but with patience, consistency, and lots of treats, he learns to trust and bond deeply. Lucky is sweet, loyal, and full of life. He’s always looking up for guidance and truly wants to be someone’s best friend. Lucky weighs 53lbs. and is approximately 2 years old (est. birth date 11/30/2022). Lucky has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet.
