We have a chance to share 5 million dollars in grants from Chase Giving

Furkids was nominated as one of hundreds of non-profit agencies around the United States to participate in Chase’s Community Giving Program. Chase will be giving away 5 million dollars in grants and YOU get to decide who receives them! 

Voting will run from September 6 thru September 19.  Voters receive 2 votes per Facebook account. Each vote must be cast for a different Eligible Nominated Charity – 1 for Furkids and 1 for another lucky charity!

Chase customers with an online Chase account have an opportunity to get 2 additional votes. There is also 1 bonus vote awarded for Facebook users by allowing Chase“Access” and sharing content from the Chase Community Giving application to your Facebook newsfeed or timeline. If you qualify for each of these opportunities, it will allow for a total of 5 possible votes – with 3 going to Furkids! Are you still with us?? 

Steps you can take to help Furkids win $10,000 – $250,000: 

1. Visit  Furkids’ Chase Community Giving Page and vote for Furkids and another charity of your choice

2. Share your vote on your newsfeed or timeline and receive a bonus vote.

3. Use your bonus vote to vote for Furkids – again! 

4. If you are a Chase customer visit www.chasegiving.com and use your additional votes for Furkids and one other charity. 

What we can win!
Chase will donate the $5,000,000 to the 196 Eligible Nominated Charities who receive the most votes:

o   $250,000 to the Charity receiving the most votes;

o   $100,000 to the next ten runner’s-up Charity;

o   $50,000 to the next thirty-five runner’s–up Charity;

o   $20,000 to the next fifty runner’s-up Charities;

o   $10,000 to the next one-hundred runner’s-up Charities;

Yes, fans and supporters — another contest with high stakes! Furkids is one of 27 finalists in a local contest to win a $50,000 video to promote our cause. The contest is sponsored by the wonderful people at encyclomedia.

Nalley Driven for a Cause (Vote for Furkids!)

The contest deadline is JULY 10. Your votes will help Furkids win a van from Nalley Cars. Pure and simple, the winner is the organization that gets the most votes, and Furkids is in second place. We need every vote!

Here are five powerful reasons why should you vote for Furkids.

• Be part of a winning team that doesn’t discriminate by breed. Furkids rescues all cats and dogs, not just one breed.
• Save more animals. Furkids serves 600 homeless dogs and cats per day – far more than any other organization in the state.
• Help more animals find homes. Right now, Furkids has one van to serve 600 animals and 14 locations – cat and dog shelters, 4 PETCO locations, 5 PetSmart locations, a home for FIV cats, a Thrift Store – plus dozens of foster homes.
• Assist law enforcement officials. Law enforcement officials call on Furkids to assist them with hoarding cases – sick, starving, injured, neglected cats and dogs imprisoned in filthy conditions, and a van will help Furkids efficiently rescue more of these animals.
• Help Furkids volunteers do even more. A second van means we can cut down on rental vehicles for adoption events and for the Furkids Thrift Store. A second van also will keep volunteers from using their personal vehicles.
• Magnify the power of your vote! It takes money to own a van, and Furkids has that covered. If Furkids wins, an anonymous donor has volunteered to donate to pay for taxes, insurance and maintenance on the vehicle for three years.

2012 Cat Calendar Contest | Results

Furkids recently ran a contest for our 2012 calendar and invited entrants to submit a photo of their rescued/adopted cat and share the story of why they deserved to be in the calendar. We received over 40 wonderful entries! We only wish there were that many months in the year so we could feature them all!

It was a very challenging decision for the committee, but we are pleased to share the 13 finalists.

Over the next few months, our fantastic volunteer professional photographers, Jacob Fu and Esther Julee, of Julee Photography, will hold photo sessions with the finalists and will produce our beautiful 2012 Furkids Cat Calendar! Stay tuned for information on how to pre-order your calendars. If you pre-order, you get to vote for the cat that you would like to see on the cover!

Here now, are the finalists that will grace the 13-months and cover of the 2012 calendar. Get ready for your close-ups, kitties!
