I Am A Dog Foster Mom.

Posted by Furkids Admin | Friday, January 13th

Our incredible foster, Marci Reynolds, writes about her journey through fostering and the joy it brings to her life!

We learned about dogs fostering when...

I first learned about fostering dogs when my husband and I decided to adopt a second Rat Terrier. We did some research online and found Rat Terrier Rescue, and a foster mom who was caring for several dogs we wanted to meet. We made the 2 hour trek to her home with our current Rat Terrier Lexie and proceeded to experience love at first bark with Tater Tot, now Tate. After the appropriate background and house checks, we adopted Tate and he became part of the family.

A few years after we adopted Tate, my husband and I made the life decision to relocate from Boston to Georgia for both work and better weather. As we discussed the type of new house we wanted, we agreed that the house would have to allow us to become foster dog parents. This meant finding a new home with a large fenced in backyard, no limitations related to pets,...

January 6, 2017

Dear Furkids Friends,

Happy 2017 to all of you!

A few weeks ago, some Furkids family members got together to find an innovative way to help our organization increase adoptions and gain additional support.  The product of this team’s creative efforts is the clever, wildly appealing and funny Kitty Kommercial featuring some of our animals, staff and volunteers. We loved the video (who wouldn’t?) and posted it to our Facebook page on December 24. Without a doubt, the attention is far beyond anything our organization could realistically wish for. Furkids has received praise and well wishes from over 9,000 people globally, and the momentum continues to build...

Furkids Kitty Kommercial goes viral

Posted by Furkids Admin | Wednesday, January 4th

It's pretty awesome when we can make life better for animals and people! Our latest video, Kitty Kommercial, has received some great feedback after making it to the front page of Reddit

The video was originally posted to Youtube and our Facebook page, and has over 35,000 (and counting) views collectively.  It features Furkids volunteer, Paul Preston, using traditional, yet cheesy salesman tactics to find "furever" homes for the Furkids shelter animals.

The story of our viral video was even picked up by The Huffington Post, the AJC,  Mother Nature Network and digital media news and entertainment sites, BuzzFeed and UPROXX! We're excited about this, because this kind of publicity tends to lead to more adoptions, volunteers and donations, which means we can save more animals in need!

Thank you to all who shared this video!
